A herd of deer were snapped cooling off in the water in the Highlands.
Graham Smith, 64, captured the animals splashing around in the water near Applecross with views of the Isle of Skye behind them.
Retired Graham, who was on holiday from West Yorkshire, quickly pulled over at the side of the road to picture the deer when he saw them running along the shoreline.
He said the deer were enjoying cooling off in the shallow water.
Keen photographer Graham said: “I was on my way from Ballachulish to Ullapool but took the long way round through Applecross when I saw the deer in the water.
“I parked up at the side of the road and managed to get a few snaps of them enjoying the water.
“There was seven of them just cooling off in the water which was just about 2ft deep.
“It was a beautiful day and I think they were enjoying themselves running up and down the shoreline in the water.”
