The body of a man has been recovered from a loch in the Western Isles.
Police and coastguard had been alerted to a swimmer in difficulty in the water at Loch Caitiosbhal on the Isle of Lewis on Sunday morning.
Emergency services attended between 10.40am and 11.15am and a rescue operation was launched.
A helicopter and RNLI lifeboat were deployed during the search and a body was recovered a short time later.
The man’s family have been informed. An investigation is ongoing in the circumstances of the death, which is not being treated as suspicious.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
