Dentist and diabetes appointments at the former Centre for Health Science complex in Inverness have been disrupted after legionella bacteria was discovered in its water supply.
The building, which was renamed UHI House, is currently used as executive offices for the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Legionella was discovered on Tuesday (November 25).
A UHI spokeswoman said: “A water test carried out by an NHS tenant showed a legionella-related issue linked to a single piece of equipment.
“As a precaution, the building will remain closed until at least Thursday, December 4, while further checks and a full system disinfection are completed.
“The issue does not affect any other buildings on the Inverness campus.”
She added: “We are working closely with our facilities contractor and NHS Highland, and we appreciate the patience of staff, students and tenants while preventative safeguarding measures are put in place.”
The closure has delayed some diabetes and dental appointments. Affected patients are being contacted.
