Flights have been disrupted at a Scottish airport after “threatening communication” was reported.
Officers were alerted to the incident at Kirkwall Airport on Saturday at around 10.50am.
The airport advised passengers to contact airlines directly for flight updates while enquiries continue.
Police Scotland said there is no evidence to suggest the threat was “credible” but added investigations were ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.50am today, Saturday, January 4, 2025, police were made aware of a threatening communication made to Kirkwall Airport.
“At this time there is no evidence to suggest the threat was credible. Enquiries into the incident are continuing.”
