Fire crews are working to extinguish a huge blaze which broke out at a former nursing home in Inverness early on Friday morning.
Emergency services were called at around 4.15am to reports of a fire at a derelict building on Clachnaharry Road in the city.
Six fire crews were confirmed to be in attendance and firefighters remain at the scene.
The cause of the fire is not known and there are no details of any casualties as a result of the blaze
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 4.14am on Friday, April 19 to reports of a fire at a derelict building on Clachnaharry Road, Inverness.
“Operations Control mobilised six appliances to the scene. Firefighters remain in attendance and are working to make the area safe.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A road closure has been put in place on the A862, Clachnaharry Road as a result of a fire.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area.”
