Emergency services have been called to a property on Orkney following reports of a fire on Sunday.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised three appliances to New Scapa Road in Kirkwall at around 11.21am.

The flames were extinguished just under two hours later, however, fire crews remain on the scene.

There were no reported injuries following the incident.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We received reports of a property fire at New Scapa Road, Kirkwall at around 11.21am.

“Three appliances were dispatched to the scene. A stop message was relayed at 1.10pm and appliances remain on the scene.

“No injuries were reported.”

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
