The family of a pensioner who died after being struck by a motorcycle have said they are “devastated” by their loss.
Emergency crews were called to the scene on the A836 near Invershin at around 11.30am on July 19.
The pedestrian, an 85-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has now been identified as Angus Ross, from Ardgay.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 49-year-old man, was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The road was closed while crash investigations were carried out and reopened at around 6.20pm.
In a statement released via police, Mr Ross’ familysaid: “We are devastated over the loss of Angus, who was much loved by all the family.
“We would like to request privacy at this sad and difficult time as we come to terms with what’s happened.”
Police Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Angus at this very difficult time. We will continue to support them as our enquiries progress.
“I’m appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to get in touch.
“Drivers with dashcam footage of the A836 around 11.30am on Wednesday, July 19, are urged to review it and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
