A major road in the Highlands is closed in both directions following a two-vehicle crash on Saturday morning.

The incident happened at around 10am on the A9 near Dunrobin Castle close to Golspie.

Emergency services are in attendance and motorists are being urged to use an alternative route.

It is unknown if there are any injuries as a result of the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a crash involving two vehicles on the A9 near Dunrobin Castle, close to Golspie around 10am on Saturday, 30 September.

 “The road is currently closed and emergency services are at the scene.”
