A dog was taken to the vet after being struck by a car that mounted a pavement in a hit and run in Inverness.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place on Thornbush Road in the city at around 2.45pm on Friday, March 1.
The Jack Russell Terrier named Ruby was hit by a red car which mounted the kerb.
The dog and her owner were aided by a member of the public as the pet was taken to a vet.
‘Ruby’ is said to be recovering well at home as police launched an appeal for witnesses.
A Police Scotland statement read: “We are appealing to anybody who may have been on Thornbush Road, Inverness about 2:45pm on Friday, March 1, 2024.
“Ruby, Jack Russell dog, was hit by a red car which mounted the kerb.
“Ruby and her owner were assisted by a kind member of the public who took them to the vets.
“If you were in the area and saw this happen or have a dashcam fitted – please get in touch quoting incident 2789 of March 1, 2024.
“Ruby is now recovering well at home.”
