Police are investigating after a body was found on a beach in Nairn.

At around 6.15am on Thursday morning, a body was discovered in the Hilton of Delnies area of Nairn.

Police confirmed that formal identification has yet to take place, pending further enquiries, but the death is being treated as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.15am on Thursday, 25 August, 2022, police were called to the Hilton of Delnies area of Nairn, after a body was found.

“Formal identification has yet to take place and the death is currently being treated as unexplained, pending further enquiries.”
