A climber had to be airlifted to hospital after being struck by a falling rock in Glencoe.
The Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team were called in by Police Scotland to help the man who had been hit in the back on January 6.
Despite originally being classed as a “walking wounded” incident, the casualty was found seriously injured and slowly descending the mountain with his climbing partner.

Glencoe MRTA call was made for helicopter assistance while the man was placed into a stretcher and carried to a location for uplift amid difficult weather conditions.
The helicopter was able to winch the casualty to hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for Glencoe MRT added: “It was immediately obvious to us that this was more serious than just a ‘walking wounded’ and that he, despite his level of pain and discomfort, had managed to self-rescue to that point.

Glencoe MRT is made up of 30 skilled volunteers.
