An 11-year-old child has been left injured after being struck by a car in Orkney on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Kirkwall’s Junction Road, near where it meets Tankerness Lane and the Job Centre at around 5.30pm on July 26.
The driver of the car stopped, and the 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital to be checked over. His condition is currently unknown.
Police were informed of the collision at around 9.05pm later that night.
Sergeant Simon Hay, Kirkwall Police Station, said: “The collision happened around 5.30pm, and the driver of the car did stop at the time, but the child was later taken to hospital to be checked over.
“The incident was then reported to us, so I’m asking anyone who saw what happened or if you were the driver involved to please make contact.”
