A mountain rescue team in the Highlands has revealed a safety helmet helped prevent a “tragic outcome” for one lucky climber.
Braemar Mountain Rescue shared the picture of the helmet, which had small specks of blood on it, on Monday in an effort to remind climbers of the potential dangers without suitable equipment.
The rescue service confirmed that a “potentially tragic outcome” was prevented.
Braemar Mountain Rescue said: “The climber from tonight’s incident was happy we share the image of their damaged helmet.
“If ever you needed a reminder to wear one on technical ground or climbing, here it is.
“Potentially a tragic outcome prevented.”
