A bothy has been put up for sale on an island in the Inner Hebrides – but will not be sold to second home owners.
Islanders on Eigg are seeking a neighbour who will be a part of their 100-person community.
The quaint one-room home, Sandamhor Bothy, comes with a quarter of an acre of land attached and is selling for offers over £65,000.
It was formally shepherd’s dwelling and holiday accommodation, requiring extensive renovation and improvements.
The plot has views across the seascape towards the mainland.
Access is via a shared unsurfaced and rough access track.
The building is stone built and contains a single room divided by a low wall.
Water is supplied to an inside sink and outside toilet. There is currently a cast iron wood-burning stove installed in the property.
The listing stated: “Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust (IEHT) do not undertake to accept the highest or any offer for the property.
“IEHT are looking for a purchaser that wants to live on Eigg full time and will be an active contributing member of the community.”
Offers on Sandamhor Bothy are open until November 1.
