The body of a man has been pulled from a canal in Inverness following an extensive search.
The alarm was raised at around 6.45am in the St Valery Park area on Wednesday, near the Caledonian Canal, after reports of concern for a person.
Extensive searches were carried out to locate the individual and a male’s body was recovered from the water at 2.20pm.
His family has been informed.
Detectives do not believe the death is suspicious. A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.45am on Wednesday, April 1, we received a report of concern for a person in the St Valery Park area of Inverness.
“Officers attended and following extensive searches, including with partner agencies, the body of a man was recovered around 2.20pm. His family are aware.
“The death is not believed to be suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
