Google MapsThe body of a man has been discovered following a house fire in Kinlochleven.
Emergency services were called to reports of a house fire on Leven Road on Tuesday.
Six fire engines and two height vehicles spent hours bringing the fire under control, as surrounding homes were forced to evacuate.
It has now been confirmed that the body of a man has been discovered within the fire-damaged property.
A police spokesperson said: “Around 11am on Tuesday, September 1, we received a report of a fire at a property on Leven Road in Kinlochleven.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“The body of a man was found within and next of kin are aware. Formal identification has yet to take place.
“Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.”
