A body has been found in the search for a Swiss walker last seen in the Scottish mountains a week ago.

Bernard Trottet, who had been hiking alone, was last heard from several miles north of Glenfinnan at Corryhully bothy, on Tuesday, May 27.

The 65-year-old was planning to walk north to Kinloch Hourn on the Cape Wrath trail and then on to a campsite in the Morvich area but failed to arrive.

Police confirmed that around 12.55pm on Monday, the body of a man was found in the water in the Kinloch Hourn area.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but Mr Trottet’s family have been informed.

Officers say there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
