A body has been found in a search across the UK’s highest mountain after a woman went missing having posted a selfie at the summit.
Sarah Buick, 24, took a photo at the top of Ben Nevis at around 5am on Tuesday, and was not heard from afterwards.
The social media post was captioned: “Good morning from ben nevis!”
Police launched a search for the 24-year-old from Dundee covering the area around the mountain and, on Thursday evening, announced that a body of a woman had been discovered.
The woman is yet to be formally identified, but Ms Buick’s family has been informed.
The experienced hillwalker, who often made trips alone, hiked from the Lower Falls area of Glen Nevis.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said there are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
