Duncan Macpherson Independent Councillor Inverness South via FacebookAsda has apologised after a petrol station store on the Isle of Skye was closed in an unplanned pro-Palestine protest.
Locals took to social media on Thursday to voice their frustration at the closure of the Broadford shop and petrol station.
A poster placed in the store window read: “Closed in solidarity with the people of Palestine and those of the global SUMUD Flotilla who were detained attempting to break an illegal siege on Gaza.”
It comes after Israeli forces intercepted a Gaza-bound flotilla, which was carrying four Scots.
A spokesperson for Asda confirmed the incident was an “unplanned closure” and later apologised to impacted locals.

“We’d like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused earlier today while we worked to re-open the store.”
