The A9 has been closed in both directions in Tain after a woman was struck by a car.
The collision occurred around 12.10pm at the busy road’s junction with Craighill Terrace on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services are in attendance and diversions have been put in place.
Drivers have been urged to avoid the area.
A police spokesperson said: “The A9 is closed in both directions at the junction with Craighill Terrace, Tain, following a crash involving a car and a female pedestrian which happened around 12.10pm on Sunday, May 25.
“Emergency services are in attendance. Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.
