Seven football fans were arrested for disorderly behaviour during Dundee United's visit to Ross County on Saturday.

The men were taken into custody following disruption at Dingwall's Victoria Park, where Dundee United ran out 3-2 winners in the Scottish Cup tie.

Match commander Colin Gough said: "It is disappointing that a small minority of fans were involved within disorder in the ground.

"Disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated in any format. Inquiries are continuing and there is potential for further arrests."

A spokesperson for Ross County Football Club said: "Ross County are disappointed that the police made seven arrests during the cup tie in Dingwall today whilst it should be remembered for football, sadly such a number of arrests only undermines all that we all seek to eradicate from the game."
