Multi-award-wining filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s film company will produce several new films for Netflix each year.
Amblin Partners, which is behind theatrical hits such as 1917 and The Post, has teamed up with the streaming platform, it was announced on Monday.
Netflix tweeted: “Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners is teaming up with Netflix.
“Thrilled to announce that the legendary filmmaker’s company will produce multiple new films for Netflix each year.”
Spielberg previously said Netflix films should compete for Emmys, awards of excellence in television, rather than Oscars as they are TV movies.
