Marti Pellow has launched a search for a new Scottish act to open for him at his upcoming gigs at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Bandstand.
The former Wet, Wet, Wet star has teamed up with STV Radio to find three standout performers to open each night of his three-show run at the outdoor venue on August 6, 7 and 8 this summer.
STV Radio breakfast hosts Ewen and Cat will warm up the crowds before the winner takes to the stage to open for Pellow – and say they can’t wait to uncover a hidden talent.
Ewen Cameron said: “Scotland is bursting with talent and this is a brilliant opportunity to support one of Scotland’s most-loved singers at a cracking venue this summer. Cat and I are passionate about supporting up and coming singers and songwriters so if you want to join the Marti Party on the stage, get in touch!”
Pellow said: “Ewen and Cat are going to find us some fresh new talent – and Scotland has loads of that – and we’re looking for a new singer for each night that we’re on.
“Being back home means everything, and sharing music with the people who shaped me makes it even sweeter. Let’s have a Marti Party in the park, bring your dancing shoes and your smiles, and I’ll bring the songs we all know and love.”
To win a chance to support Pellow at Summer Nights at the Bandstand this August, upload a video to www.stvradio.co.uk from 9am on Wednesday, June 17. T&Cs on the website.
Ewen and Cat at Breakfast airs from 6 – 10am every weekday on STV Radio, available on DAB, STV Player, stvradio.co.uk and on your smart speaker.
