A singer from West Lothian is hoping to become the latest Scottish star of hit ITV2 reality show Love Island.

Paige Turley is one of 12 hopefuls to enter the villa for the first winter edition of the match-making show that kicks-off on Sunday night.

The 22-year-old counts pop-star Lewis Capaldi among her ex-boyfriends and it has been claimed she was the subject of his biggest hit Someone You Love.

Love Island won’t be the first reality show Paige has took part in, as a 14-year-old she appeared on talent contest Britain’s Got Talent.

As the latest Scot to enter the villa she will be following in the footsteps of Camilla Thurlow, Laura Anderson and Anton Danyluk who have all had relative success in the previous three summer editions.

Speaking ahead of the launch she described herself as loud, boisterous and fun and said the song to best describe her love life would be Highway to Hell by Scots rockers AC/DC.

She said: “I do want to go in and make friends but we are all there to find love. I’m going to express how I feel.”

On Capaldi, she says she remains friend with the singer who has been nominated for four Brit Awards at this year’s ceremony.

She said: “We went out when we were younger, I was about 17 or 18.

“We were together for about a year. It ended really amicably and we’re still pals.”

Love Island 2020 Winter Edition begins at 9pm on ITV2.
