Comedy star Paul Black has become an internet sensation over the past 12 months thanks to his hilarious impressions.
Black hopes to be performing at Glasgow’s SEC Armadillo in January, should Covid restrictions allow, in what would be the biggest show of his life.
It’s the heights his impressions of an American tourist and his own mum – viewed millions of times online – have taken him to.
He told STV News: “Apparently, I’m everybody’s mum, because I make this genuinely very specific to my mum, but it just seems that literally everybody in this country has the same mum.
“So I’m going to have to look into that. I love when people say to me ‘my mum loves you’. That’s the ultimate compliment.
“That’s the audience I want to conquer, the mums.”
But what does the 25-year-old’s own mum think about his viral impressions?
“She’s told me to stop telling people that she doesn’t get it. She’s like ‘I do get it’,” Black said.
“But she’s coming round to it a bit more because people in her work will show her it and be like ‘oh, is that meant to be you?’.
“And she’ll be like ‘aye, that’s meant to be me’.”
