Paolo Nutini joins Canadian band on stage for impromptu club performance

The singer hosted an intimate session less than 48 hours before headlining at Edinburgh's Royal Highland Centre.

Paolo Nutini hopped on stage for an impromptu performance at an Edinburgh nightclub in front of stunned fans.

The Candy singer, who is due to perform at the capital’s Ingliston on Thursday, joined Canadian indie band Sylvie at the intimate Sneaky Pete’s on Tuesday evening.

The venue, which is also a popular haunt for fellow Scottish performer Lewis Capaldi, shared a video of the performance on social media.

Nutini will headline the stage at the Royal Highland Centre to round off a week of live music at the site, with support from Inhaler and The Big Moon.

But that did not stop the These Streets star – who released his fourth album ‘Last Night in the Bittersweet’ last year to critical acclaim – fitting in an unexpected warm up in front of the tiny audience.

“Big Paolo Nutini just jumped on stage with Sylvie,” the venue wrote on Instagram.

“You never know who’s gonna be around at a Sneaky Pete’s show.”
