Bosses at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro have warned music fans not to camp ahead of concerts ahead of performance by former One Direction star Niall Horan.

The 30-year-old singer-songwriter is set to perform at the 14,000-capacity venue on Wednesday.

It comes after dozens of fans pitched tents and camped outside the venue last month for more than 48 hours when The 1975 played for two nights in sub-zero temperatures.

In a statement on social media, the OVO Hydro warned: “Please remember, early queuing on campus is discouraged – it won’t guarantee a place at the front of the stage!

“Queuing/camping overnight on campus is not permitted – the safety of the public attending events on our campus is our highest priority, especially considering the active nature of our campus with other various events taking place.

“We recommend visitors allow plenty of time to get through our security checks and into the venue, arriving for the doors open time as a general guide.”
