Last of Us game and 24 actor Annie Wersching dies aged 45

Diagnosed with cancer in 2020, she leaves behind her husband and their three sons.

Actor Annie Wersching, known for her work on the video game The Last of Us and series 24, has died aged 45.

She was best known for playing Renee Walker in the TV drama alongside Kiefer Sutherland.

“My heart breaks for her young family,” Sutherland said.

“The world lost a light,” he said calling Wersching his friend and one of the greatest actors he had ever worked with.

“May she be remembered for the beautiful person that she was.”

The Last Of Us creator Neil Druckmann said: “You left us way too soon.”

Wersching was diagnosed with cancer in 2020.

Born in Missouri, she went on to study musical theatre before landing her first role with a guest appearance on Star Trek: Enterprise.

She went on to play an FBI agent in two seasons of the hit show 24 before guest roles in several major TV shows including The Vampire Diaries and The Rookie.

She played the Borg Queen in 2022’s Star Trek: Picard.

Wersching is survived by her husband, Stephen Full, and their three sons.
