Kaye Adams and Shereen Nanjiani to host guest slot on STV Radio

Two of Scotland’s most esteemed broadcasters, Kaye Adams and Shereen Nanjiani, are set to co-present a special one-off show on national commercial radio station, STV Radio.

The broadcasting icons and longtime friends will come together to guest host the station’s Sunday Brunch show on Sunday, October 4, between 9am and 12noon.

Kaye and Shereen will ease listeners into their Sunday with a handcrafted playlist of their favourite songs and the stories behind why they’re so special.

After many years of friendship and working alongside each other, the pair will also share a good old-fashioned catch-up on life, work, and the world as they see it.

The show marks a welcome return to STV for Shereen, 20 years after she left her role as a much-loved STV News anchor, while Kaye is a longtime member of the STV family as host of daily chat show Loose Women.

She first joined as a news reporter in 1988, covering major stories such as the Lockerbie disaster, before going on to present the flagship news programme and Scottish Women.

Kaye Adams said: “STV has such a special place in my heart and I’m delighted to be back for a trip down memory lane with my old pal, Shereen ‘The Screen Queen‘ Nanjiani. This show will give her the chance to tell everyone how excruciating my accent was when I walked into STV HQ 38 years ago!”

Shereen Nanjiani said: “I’m delighted to get this chance to co-host with Kaye as STV is where our lifelong friendship began and I have so many happy memories of our time there. We’ve had a lot of fun reminiscing and choosing a great playlist of our favourite songs for the show. I’m looking forward to sharing our stories with listeners – even the embarrassing ones! It’s been decades since Kaye and I presented a show together so I hope we’re still friends at the end of it…”

Kaye and Shereen are well known to listeners across the country having both presented long-running national radio shows.

Kaye’s hit podcast How To Be 60 recently staged its fifth sold-out live run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The duo join STV Radio weeks after it was revealed the station became one of the top ten most-listened-to commercial stations in Scotland in its first six months on air. Since launching in January, STV Radio has built a loyal and growing audience by combining relatable presenters with music and content reflecting and celebrating life in Scotland.
