Karen Dunbar has announced that she has been forced to cancel the remainder of her tour due to a pay dispute with the promoter.
Dunbar, currently halfway through her 40-date Aw Roon the Hooses tour, announced on social media that the remaining 20 dates had been cancelled, leaving her “gutted”.
Cancelled dates include Dunfermline, Troon, Motherwell, Inverurie, Nairn, Dundee, Portobello, Dunbar, and Stirling.
Dunbar claimed she has only been paid for five out of 19 shows, despite touring for two months.
In addition, one show was cancelled by the promoter without Dunbar’s knowledge.
She said: “I can’t go on. Honestly, I’ve never been in a situation like this in my life. The stress has been unbelievable, and I am so sorry for all the people who have bought tickets and won’t be coming.
“Hopefully you’ll be able to get a refund through the promoter.”
Dunbar said the matter was likely to end up in court.
The comedian reassured fans she would see them at other shows and thanked them for supporting her.
Some tour dates have been unaffected, including Greenock, Peebles, and Shotts, which were organised by a different promoter.
Dunbar did not name the promoter involved in the dispute.
The comedian and actress is best known for her various roles in Chewin’ the Fat alongside Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill, which led to her own series, The Karen Dunbar Show.
