Former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is to play the UK’s deputy Prime Minister in a new Sky series called The Wargame.
The four-part show sees an impressive cross-party cast of highly experienced public figures who must navigate a war with Russia.
Ex-Tory MP Michael Gove, will play the Prime Minister, alongside the likes of Penny Mordaunt, Sayeeda Warsi, Harriet Harman and former Scottish Labour leader Jim Murphy.
Murphy posted on X: “This was fun and challenging to film. And was enjoyable being on the same side as Nicola Sturgeon for only the second time in our lives (Remain).
“No plot spoilers.”
The show is produced by The Garden, part of ITV Studios and takes viewers beyond the news cycle and behind closed doors into a sealed COBR-style crisis room.
The drama will run on four consecutive nights in September. It’s set six months into the future and has been developed in conjunction with leading academics, military and defence experts.
