An Aberdeenshire harbour town has been transformed into a set for hit gangster TV show Peaky Blinders, as filming of the final season commences.

Cillian Muprhy, who plays Thomas Selby in the lead role, was decked out in his period costume in Portsoy.

The shoot is for the sixth season of the critically acclaimed drama, which will also be its last.

However, writer and creator Steven Knight has previously said the story will continue in another form.

After delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, filming is finally underway for the show which first appeared on screens in 2013.

The BBC said that the shoot complies with all the latest Covid-19 guidelines.
