All festival-goers attending TRSNMT in Glasgow will have to present proof or a negative NHS Covid-19 lateral flow test in order to gain entry.

Attendees are required to take a test up to 48 hours before arriving at the site.

The results have to be uploaded to the Scottish Government website and the confirmation text should be shown to stewards at the site.

Fans attending multiple days across the weekend, will be required to take a second test 48 hours after the first one.

This year’s TRNSMT takes place from September 10-12 after being postponed several months due to the coronavirus pandmemic.

Geoff Ellis, festival director said: “We’ve got an amazing line-up and can’t wait to be back on Glasgow Green, welcoming up to 50,000 fans per day for what is set to be an amazing weekend.

“This year, anyone attending must play their part and present proof of a negative lateral flow test, taken within 48 hours of arrival at the event.

“The tests are completely free of charge and really easy to do, showing a result within 30 minutes which can be instantly uploaded to receive a confirmation text message or email. But I would urge fans to order them as soon as possible and visit the TRNSMT website if they have any queries.”

The Courteeners, Liam Gallagher and The Chemical Brothers are headlining the three-day festival on Glasgow Green.

Last year’s festival was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and this year’s event was intially scheduled to take place in July.

It was moved back two months in a bid to welcome as many festival-goes as possilble amid the ongoing easing of lockdown restrictions.

The change of date from July 9-11 means Lewis Capaldi, Rita Ora, Foals, Jimmy Eat World and Loyle Carner will be unable to perform as previously arranged.
