Hit movie Elf has been transformed into a live show set to spread Christmas cheer in Scotland over the festive season.
The Hollywood blockbuster has been supersized into a live arena spectacular, with a huge stage featuring film backdrops on an LED screen and a mobile stage that will travel around auditoriums to give audiences a close-up view of the action.
Heading to the P&J Live in Aberdeen on December 9 and Glasgow’s Hydro from December 10 to 11, the show will feature Santa’s flying sleigh, an audience snowball fight, an indoor snowstorm and aerial cirque stars.
West End star Steven Serlin will step into Buddy the elf’s floppy shoes, while Kelly Banlaki stars as love interest Jovie, Birds of a Feather actor Charlie Quirke as the cop and comedian Jordan Conway in a variety of roles.
Producer and director Jon Conway said: “This is the fourth year we have presented this epic version of the Broadway and Hollywood hit as part of the World’s Biggest Pantomime brand.
“Elf is always one of the most popular Christmas films and Buddy the elf a truly iconic character.
“We are returning to some venues and have made the show even bigger and better with new features to make it a really thrilling experience.
“We are keenly aware of the economic climate and are one of the few shows to have reduced our prices from Elf’s last visit for an affordable family outing.
“One of the best sights is the audience dressing up for the show, especially the dads in elf Christmas sweaters! This is an unmissable Xmas treat.”
Tickets for Elf – The Arena Spectacular will go on sale soon on Ticketmaster.
