Scenes from gritty new IRA thriller Borderland are being shot on the streets of Glasgow.

Northern Irish actor Colin Morgan, 36, is seen shooting a fake gun on set for the movie.

In an exciting set-piece, Morgan drives up to actor Mark Strong’s character in an original 1970’s car and brandishes the weapon, before making his escape.

The Sky Original revenge-filled action thriller is written by “Top Boy” creator Ronan Bennett and The Guard Brothers.

Morgan is best known for playing the title character in the BBC fantasy series Merlin and as Billy Clanton in Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast.

The plot sees a border ambush gone wrong, and a retired Irish paramilitary (Morgan) witnesses the fatal shooting of his pregnant wife by an SAS officer.

After outwitting the SAS, now wounded, and presumed dead, he escapes, taking his revenge to the dark and paranoid streets of 1970’s London.

Borderland is earmarked for release later this year.
