Children have been getting in on the action as family-friendly shows have returned to Edinburgh for this year’s festival.
Although this year’s event is smaller due to the pandemic, there are still plenty of shows for children to enjoy.
Entertainer Magic Gareth says his magic act “transcends generations” and is fun for all the family.
He said: “It’s got games, it’s got balloons, it’s got magic, most importantly and it’s fun for all the family from age four upwards.”
Meanwhile performer Mr Fibbers’ toilet humour during his Comedy Club 4 Kids show has been a hit with children in the audience.
“To put it quite bluntly, certain things are always funny no matter how old you are,” he said.
The Book Festival has also returned for 2021, with an appearance from The Gruffalo and discussions with top authors Neil Gaiman and Michael Morpungo taking place this weekend.
