Scots singer-songwriter Callum Beattie has been announced as the second headliner for next summer’s Edinburgh Castle Concerts.
The star from Musselburgh will play the iconic venue on Friday, July 10.
He joins an already star-studded line-up after Snow Patrol were announced as the first headlining act for the concerts.
The 35-year-old, who had his breakthrough in 2019, said the opportunity was a “dream” he didn’t really dare to have.
“Being a wee boy and then growing up trying to make my way in music, just find a way to make a living from it, of course I’d have these silly ideas of maybe being a star one day,” he added.
“To play the castle, though, was barely something that even in those daydreams didn’t seem possible. Being able to afford a ticket to see somebody play it was a stretch.”
He continued: “So this is wild. The whole journey with (Beattie’s manager) Dave and I seems to lead up to moments like this, from the new record and how it all came together to the Hydro and now to this, Edinburgh Castle.
“I don’t know what I have done to deserve all this and all the love from fans, but I love it and I can’t thank you all enough. See you at the Castle! It doesn’t seem real to say that even now.”
John Stout, from Castle Concerts, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Callum Beattie to the castle in 2026 – his incredible talent, powerful songwriting, and genuine connection with fans make him the perfect artist to light up this historic venue for an unforgettable night of music.”
