The US may not have a royal family, but Taylor Swift’s nuptials to fiancé Travis Kelce have been dubbed America’s version of a royal wedding.
Speculation from Swifties on the date, venue, and guest list of one of the world’s wealthiest musicians has been building from the moment the couple announced their engagement in August last year.
Swift is known for leaving easter eggs in the buildup to major career moments, turning her fans into eagle-eyed detectives, but the global pop sensation and her three-time NFL champion fiancé have stayed silent on the details of their big day.
Although nothing has been confirmed by Swift or Kelce’s teams, the rumor mill is turning – with perhaps some speculation carrying credibility.

When and where is Swift rumoured to be tying the knot?
The star couple has not publicly said when they are getting married, but reports largely suggest they could be set to tie the knot around July 4, which this year, will also mark the 250th US Independence Day.
Swift is known for hosting elaborate celebrations to mark the American holiday, with her annual Fourth of July party becoming an event in its own right, nicknamed “Taymerica” by fans.
This timing also fits with Kelce’s football schedule, given the Kansas City Chiefs player once joked on his podcast, New Heights, that he wouldn’t make friends “choose whether or not they have to sell their tickets that week”.

As the holiday nears, rumours that the celebrity wedding of the year could take place at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in Midtown Manhattan have taken centre stage.
The arena, referenced on Swift’s Red album, is normally a host venue for a variety of sporting matches. But it has also seen several global superstars perform – including Swift herself on eight different occasions.
US President Donald Trump has also held rallies at the 22,000 maximum capacity arena.

Public records show that the city issued a permit for loading and unloading theatrical materials at the arena from June 29 to July 4.
Meanwhile, Winick Productions, a company that has produced red carpet events for the Grammy and Tony award shows, also applied for a permit to set up a canopy or tent outside the Garden for an event involving up to 999 people.
Several NFL players have reportedly booked hotel rooms near the venue, which has underground VIP entrances and a level of privacy that is difficult to achieve with an outdoor venue.

Whilst not a traditional wedding venue choice, it is available for private rentals – advertising a banquet capacity for 1,250 – and weddings have been hosted there before.
Sly Stone got married to Kathy Silva at MSG in 1974, and more than 2,000 couples were also wed there in a controversial Unification Church mass ceremony, officiated by the Rev. Sun Myung Moon in 1982.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani jokingly referenced the reports of Swift and Kelce’s wedding taking place in the city during a press conference last month.
Mamdani was answering questions about safety during the World Cup when he said: “We know it coincides with July Fourth, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding all happening at the same time, and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”

But could this be an elaborate red-herring?
Despite social media and tabloid speculation, it is possible that the preparations at MSG could be a decoy event, or that Swift may have a smaller ceremony followed by a larger party at MSG.
Some fans online have said that MSG would be too obvious a choice altogether, or that the duo’s wish for privacy around the wedding suggests a more low-key affair.
Swift’s 2025 engagement was a private affair in the garden of Kelce’s 17,000-square-foot home.
Meanwhile, others on TikTok have thrown out wilder theories that the planned event in New York could be an album launch or a similar fan-based event.
Who will make the star-studded guest list?
Swift joked in October that “anyone I’ve ever talked to” would be invited to the wedding, telling Graham Norton that she believed “the only stressful weddings” are those that are small and force people to make aggressive cuts to the guest list”.
Who exactly has received an invite remains shrouded in secrecy, but it is highly likely there will be a host of A-listers in attendance.
For Swift, celebrity friends Selena Gomez, the Haim sisters, Emma Stone, and Gigi Hadid are likely to be there celebrating, as well as childhood best friend Abigail Anderson Berard, who has been in several music videos throughout the years.
Ed Sheeran has been all but confirmed as a guest, with Swift hinting in previous interviews that the Halifax-born singer-songwriter could even perform.

Aside from family, Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, will also likely be there.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he couldn’t talk about it when asked if he was going to the wedding.
“If it’s like when I got married, my wife did everything, so I just kind of followed her lead on it, showed up, right? Maybe he’s doing more, but he looks like he’s pretty focused on this job here, too,” Reid said in early June.
