Australian actress Toni Collette surprised a Glasgow audience who had gathered in a former church for a special screening of her breakout film Muriel’s Wedding.
Fans of the hit 1994 film had gathered at former church Cottiers in the west end for a special 30th anniversary screening of the movie as part of Glasgow Film Festival.
But unbeknownst to the audience, the star of the film made a surprise appearance, dancing onto the stage to join film festival staff to lip sync to ABBA hit Dancing Queen.

Collette then shared memories from her time making the film when she was just 21.
The screening was part of GFF’s hugely popular special event screenings which have previously seen The Thing screened on a real snow slope and Die Hard in an office block.
Glasgow Film Festival 2025 has also welcomed the likes of James McAvoy, Jessica Lange, Tim Roth and Ed Harris to the city and will continue until Sunday.
