A woman has been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on the M9 near Falkirk.

Police officers were called to the scene of the collision, involving a car and two vans, at just after 2pm on Friday afternoon.

A woman in her 30s was taken to Forth Valley hospital in Larbert as a precaution.

Traffic Scotland said the northbound carriageway at junction 4 near Polmont has closed due to the accident. The southbound carriageway remains open.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police called around 2.10 pm on Friday, 24 July, 2020, to a three vehicle RTC – 2 x vans and 1 x car northbound on the M9 at Junction 4 near Polmont, Falkirk.

“Female driver of car, believed in her 30s, taken to Forth Valley Hospital in Larbert as a precaution. No others injured. Road remains closed northbound both lanes and diversion are in place.”
