A woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Fife.

Emergency services were called to reports of a road crash on Broad Street in Cowdenbeath, at around 1.30pm on Friday.

The female pedestrian has been taken to hospital, and her condition is currently unknown.

Local councillor Darren Watt said the road between Bridge Street and High Street had been closed following the accident.

A Police Scotland statement read: “Broad Street in Cowdenbeath is closed as emergency services deal with a serious road crash.

“Around 1.30pm, police received a report of a road crash involving a pedestrian and vehicle in Broad Street.

“Emergency services are in attendance and one woman has been taken to hospital.”
