Woman found dead in property as police probe 'unexplained' death

Police are treating the death of a woman found at a property in Edinburgh as “unexplained”.

Emergency services were called around 6.15pm on Tuesday following reports of a death at a property on Saughton Mains Terrace.

The 43-year-old woman’s death is being treated as unexplained with enquiries ongoing, police said.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.15pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, we were made aware of the death of a 43-year-old woman at a property on Saughton Mains Terrace in Edinburgh.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
