A woman has fallen from a window in Edinburgh after a fire took hold of a flat on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to the building on the capital’s West Pilton Avenue at around 9.40pm following reports of the blaze.
The 43-year-old woman, who detectives say fell from the flat window, has been taken to hospital for treatment.
A number of residents were evacuated as a precaution.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.40pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026, we were called to a report concern for a woman who had fallen from the window of a flat in West Pilton Avenue, after a fire started within the property.
“The 43-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
“A number of residents in the block were evacuated as a precaution.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.”
