A woman has died after being struck by a car in Edinburgh.
The 62-year-old was on Marionville Road when she was hit by a silver Vauxhall Zafira at around 10.50pm on Friday.
Emergency services attended and she was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
However medical staff were unable to save her and she died from her injuries on Saturday morning.
Police were also in attendance a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident before being released pending further enquires.
Sergeant Ross Drummond, of the Edinburgh Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died in this crash and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“I am asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw what happened or who has dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation to get in touch.”
