STV NewsA woman has died after sustaining serious injuries following a disturbance involving a teenager outside a pub in Edinburgh.
Police were called to the scene on Constitution Street on Thursday, yards from the Foot of the Walk bar, just before 8pm.
A 33-year-old woman was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries.
Police confirmed that she later died.
A teenage boy, aged 16, was later arrested in connection to the incident.
STV NewsA large police presence could be seen in the area on Thursday evening with areas of road closed off to the public.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50pm on Thursday, May 18 we received a report of a disturbance at Constitution Street, Edinburgh.
“A 33-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries and died a short time later.
“A 16-year-old male youth has been arrested in connection with the death. Enquiries are ongoing.”
