A woman has died after being hit by a car in Stirling near a busy roundabout.

The pedestrian, aged 65, was hit by a car at around 7.45pm on Sunday, March 3 near to Blackgrange Roundabout on Alloa Road on the A907.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have been made aware.

The driver of a white Volkswagen Tiguan was uninjured.

The main road was closed for around eight hours to allow for an investigation to take place.

Inspector Andrew Thomson, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died.

“I would like to thank the members of the public who stopped at the scene

“I would also be keen to speak to anyone who were travelling on this road who may have seen the female before the collision or has dashcam footage to get in touch.”
