A woman was chased by a man wielding a knife while walking her dogs in a wooded area of Edinburgh.
Officers were called to Tormain Woods, near to Old Quarry Road in Ratho, at around 3.30pm on Wednesday after receiving reports that a dog walker had been chased by a man.
The woman was safely traced, and was found to be uninjured.
Detectives are continuing to carry out an extensive search for the man carrying the weapon.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a woman being chased by a man carrying a knife whilst out walking dogs in Tormain Woods, near to Old Quarry Road, Ratho.
“The woman was traced and was physically uninjured.
“Officers carried out an extensive search and enquiries are ongoing.”
