A woman is accused of causing the death of a father in a road crash while drink-driving in Clackmannanshire.
Demi Lennox, 34, is charged with causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving by hitting a vehicle in which Barry Dawson was a passenger, leaving him fatally hurt.
The incident is said to have occurred on the A907 Alloa Road in Cambus, on January 7, 2024.
Prosecutors claim Lennox was behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta Zetec and drove it while “impaired due to alcohol intoxication”.
The vehicle is also said to have had a temporary wheel.
The indictment lists a number of accusations, including Lennox allegedly driving at excessive speed and failing to make proper checks of the road markings.
It is claimed that another driver had to make an emergency stop to avoid a collision.
The charge further alleges Lennox overtook a car when it was unsafe to do so, ending up on the wrong side of the road.
This is said to have caused her to hit a Citroen C1 in which Mr Dawson was a backseat passenger.
Prosecutors said the 48-year-old was left so severely injured that he died.
A woman in the car was also hurt.
Lennox is also alleged to have caused damage to another vehicle during the incident.
She faces a number of further accusations, including one of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
She is accused of fleeing the scene, not waiting for police and was at a property in Tullibody, also Clackmannanshire, while officers were trying to trace her.
The case against Lennox called for a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Thomas Ross KC, defending, said: “She pleads not guilty.”
Lord Scott fixed a trial, and it is scheduled to begin in January 2027 in Stirling.
Lennox, of Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire, remains on bail meantime.
After his death, Mr Dawson’s family paid tribute to him as a “loving, husband, father, son, uncle and friend”.
