Woman, 86, killed in holiday park crash was ‘much-loved mother and grandmother’

An 86-year-old woman who died after being struck by a van at an East Lothian holiday park in September has been named by police.

Charlotte (Lottie) Harvie, from the Port Seton area, was on foot in the car park of the Seton Sands Caravan Park when she was struck by a white Vauxhall Combo van.

Emergency services attended following the incident, which occurred at about 10.40am on September 22, and Ms Harvie was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where she later died.

In a statement, Ms Harvie’s family said: “We are devastated at the tragic loss of our much-loved mother and grandmother. She will be sorely missed by all that were lucky enough to cross her path, a true inspiration and forever our superwoman.

“We are deeply grateful to all the emergency services for their outstanding care, compassion and support throughout this awful time. We would like to ask for privacy to continue to grieve our loss.”

The 45-year-old man driving the van was not injured.

Sergeant Dominic Doyle said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Charlotte at what is a very difficult time for them.

“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances continue.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1226 of Sunday September 22 2024.”
