A woman has been taken to hospital after she was knocked down on Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to Marischal Place in the Niddrie area of Edinburgh at around 3.35pm after reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and vehicle.
An 82-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
Officer arrested a 46-year-old man in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries are ongoing.
The street was closed for four hours while enquiries were carried out. The road reopened at 7.20pm.
